20/08/2026 – Printing and Packaging
It’s been a great summer, but it ends with some bad news. The EU’s new regulations on packaging came into force on the 12th August, 2026. There is a lot there, but in essence it’s aimed at reducing the impact and amount of plastic used in packaging materials. However, it makes it incredibly difficult for small sellers to operate in the single market of the European Union.
Naturvårdsverket goes into quite a bit of detail (in English), but in essence, anyone producing and selling physical materials will need to pay fees and, importantly, register in each EU member state they are shipping to and appoint a legal representative in that member state. Easy enough if you’re a giant corporation, but for independent sellers or creators, there are little to no affordable options to make that work.
I’m sure there will be revisions in the future, since the EU is largely pushing to become more self-sufficient and less reliant on extra-EU manufactured goods. For now though, it means Empire of the Saurian will be digital-only if you’re in the EU (which is terrible, because I myself am based in Sweden).
10/06/2026 – Cheng’en
The fantastic Taiwanese artist UJ Chen finished up concept art for Cheng’en in her later years and I wanted to share that with you all:

In Empire of the Saurian #1 (which is on its way), we’ll see Cheng’en again as an older, wiser, and deadlier sage from the Temple of the Old Masters. Where ‘Mastering Chaos’ sees her as a trainee, braving the wilderness and the cold-blooded beasts that roam it; the core series will see her as the Emperor’s most trusted advisor and warrior– the only person the Emperor can entrust to help him bring peace to the Land of Ten Thousand and defend the people from the encroaching Immortal Empire and its God-King.
30/03/2026 – ‘Mastering Chaos’ Full Preview
It’s been a long stretch of silence this time (and for good reason, I can assure you), but the work continues! Not least thanks to Eric, who has been drafting, sketching, and colouring away to make sure every page of this comic is as striking as it can be!
Because it’s been so long, I’m releasing a full 7-page preview of the upcoming one-shot, available here.
So go on and check out where we’ll find this epic tale’s heroine, Cheng’en, and how she fares against some of the most terrifying creatures the Land of Ten Thousand has to offer.
03/01/2026 – A Happy New Year
I hope everyone is having a lovely start to 2026. It’s been a while since the last update and if you’ve been hooked by “The Coming of the Warlords” (available for free on GlobalComix), you should know the next one-shot, “Mastering Chaos” is on its way. The incredible Eric Quigley has been drawing, inking, and colouring the pages and we’re nearly there.
This is the last one-shot before we enter the core series. “The Coming of the Warlords” introduced the world of ‘Empire of the Saurian’. “Mastering Chaos” will introduce one of the central protagonists.
There isn’t a set release date yet, but I will provide updates as soon as possible.
Finally, just because it has been so long since the last update, here is a small preview of everything to come…

01/10/2025 – “The Coming of the Warlords” Release
It’s finally here! I’m happy to announce that “The Coming of the Warlords” will be here on 6th October. You can read digitally for free on GlobalComix.
I’m also very pleased to say that, if you reside in the United States, you can also purchase the comic in physical format from Derry Comics for $3.
I don’t have a publisher in the EU just yet, but we’ll get there!
14/09/2025 – UPDATE (Mastering Chaos)

“To escape the trauma of her past and earn a place at the Temple of the Old Masters, a young woman must survive a deadly trial in the wild: a legendary white Spinosaurus— only to discover that true mastery lies not in conquering fear, but in understanding it.“
That’s the logline for the next one-shot in the ‘Empire of the Saurian’ series: “Mastering Chaos”.
Cover art has been completed by the fantastic Fernando Melek. If you like his work, consider supporting him on Patreon (link here).
Meanwhile, like the heroine of this new comic, I’ve been on a hunt of my own: searching for an artist who can capture the tone I’m going for, while drawing paleo-accurate dinosaurs. It’s tough, but I’m sure I’ll find them.
20/08/2025 – UPDATE (Lettering and Release Date)
It’s been a whole month since the last update and there’s a good reason for that.
The works of Marina Leon has provided the lettering for the interior pages. It’s fantastic work and I cannot wait for everyone to see it. The release is set for October 6th, to give time for all the launch stuff to get sorted. That includes getting reviews, setting up ads, announcements, etc… let’s see how that goes.
21/07/2025 – UPDATE (Cover Art)
We’ve got cover art! A big thank you to the masterful Fernando Melek. If you like what you see here, consider supporting his work on Patreon. There are some absolutely gorgeous pieces in his galleries.

The cover art features the Nobleman, riding his ferocious Carnotaurus.
But I don’t think I’ve yet taken the time to explain who the Nobleman is. So I will here.
The Nobleman is the last of the family that ruled over this unnamed town. One day this young man was enjoying the lap of luxury, the next he was being forced to put that combat tutoring to the test. But can he stand up to the likes of an experienced, war-hardened military leader? You’ll just have to wait and see.
14/07/2025 – UPDATE (Website Launch)
Well, here we go!
Empire of the Saurian now has a Facebook page, Patreon, and Instagram page. Mind you, it’s been a long while since I’ve been active on any those sites, so I’m really hoping people get enthusiastic enough about the series that they help share these pages and help them grow.
The series’ debut one-shot, “The Coming of the Warlords”, is coming along. More artwork (by B&W artist Aryan Tandel and colourist Danny Sanchez Chaves) will be released soon. If not here, then on Patreon. A cover and logo are on their way, too! But it’ll likely be toward the end of the month. So check back then!
